In 1960, Wilber Hardee opened the first Hardee's® restaurant in Greenville, North Carolina. The walk-up restaurant offered no dining room or wait staff, and served a limited menu. We had a Hardee's in Leonardtown which my son worked in briefly when he was in HS. At one point, Roy Rogers and Hardee's merged, and the Roy Rogers mostly went out of business, and the old Hardee's in Leonardtown is now Four Star Pizza. But when I travel to other states, I still see Hardee's restaurants.
Favorite Dish: I like the cinnamon and raisin biscuits that they have in the morning, and also the hash rounds which are hash browns made up in little nickel sized shapes.
In addition to the usual burgers, they also have sourdough sandwiches, and ham and cheese and something called a slammer. They also have fried chicken.
They have milkshakes and Barq's root beer in addition to the regular drinks.
