If only I could drive my Ferraris in Korea!

If you're moving here and own a Mercedes or other such nice car (as in a story I heard) and your new Korean boss drives a Hyundai: leave the car at home, you cannot drive it in Korea.

This harkens back to the Confusious ethics where older (especially men) are held is high regard and everything (sometimes against our logic) must be consistent. My boss has a yundai Equus (Hyundai's best model) but before he was a CEO the best he could buy was a Dynasty (a few rungs down). If he drove a prestigious car before attining a like rank he might be chastised by his colleagues, neighbors and family 9including his wife). (Maybe that's why some Koreans want to start their own business...then they can get a wicked car!)

Oh, and what happened to the guy with the Benz? He had it on blocks all the while he was in Korea.
