  Lake Te Anau
by martin_nl

Te Anau is the gateway to Fiordland National Park. Fiordland National Park is the biggest national park in New Zealand. There are many great hiking tracks that you can do in this national park, varying from day walks to 3 days or even longer tracks. Some of the most popular tracks are the Milford Track, the Routeburn Track and the Kepler Track. All these walks can be booked via the Department of Conservation. The town of Te Anau has everything a tramper might need. You can hire the equipment you still need and you can buy the food you need for your trip. Other then that the town is very nice to visit. The lake is beautiful and on the other side of town you have some great views too.
