This gray building on the photo is seat of Academy of Science and Arts of Vojvodina-VANU (branch of a Serbian Academy of Science and Arts at the moment). It was built up in 18. century and was sold in 1770. to rich Greek tradesman Aksentije Djurkovic. In 1861. orthodox bishop Platon Atanackovic bough this house for cultural and educational purpose of Serbian people. In his honor this building still has the name ?Platoneum?. There were different cultural institutions such a library, high school and faculties of Philosophy and Science. From 1979. there are seat of VANU.
