This may sound terrible, but if you got the nervers for it....
It is so unique that not many foreigners have done that.
In the wintertime the weather varies from -5 to -25 celsius. The water is normally in the winter time about +1, so itīs actually warmer than the weather ;)
They do this in Finland everywhere!!!
Every self-respecting village or town that is by water has itīs own Winter Swimming club. Here is a picture of ours in Helsinki. In the pic my husband enjoying a swim ;)

PS2. Yeah, I know, I sometimes wonder too am I sane when someone is skiing right beside me on the ice with winterclothes on and I am in the water with just my swimming suit on...
