The ferry from/to Krabi varies in the time it takes. We went for a day trip and the ferry there only took an hour and a half and the one back took over 2 hours. You can buy drinks on the boat though. As you can see from the photo, some of the boats are a bit strange in that they are a bit like a living room.....for very small people!)

It cost 200 bht per person each way (kids went free). Times we travelled were 8.00am leaving Lanta and 1.30pm returning (I think that was the last boat of the day!).

Beware though that there is a new ferry terminal at Krabi and older guidebooks (such as mine!) tell you that you arrive in the town, and you don't anymore, you have to get a bus/taxi which costs about 20 bht from the terminal to the town.
