Cleveland Off The Beaten Path: 86 reviews and 96 photos
This is a somewhat obscure little area! It's not hidden, but oft overlooked as people gawk at the more overt touristy stuff that's nearby in the Flats.
There's a restored Cabin belonging to Carter, who was a pioneer in the earliest days of Cleveland; It's open for visitors to look through.
Heritage park features a gazebo, some trees, etc; it's tiny but immensly charming. The Park and cabin are *directly* along the shore of the Cuyahoga, which makes the setting even more lovely; you can sit on the benches rigbht along the shore and watch the barges drift by, the seagulls swarm, the Center St bridge swing about, and generally take in the unique charm of downtown. Above you, is the Detroit Superior bridge, which always adds a level of excitement to me; makes the park seem like a cozy little nook. :)
Be sure to see this, if you enjoy finding obscure historic locales. It's located downtown, on the cusp of the East & West bank of the Flats, along Old River Rd, by the big red Center St. swing bridge.
