The small town of Lepoglava is situated about 80km's north of Zagreb. There isn't much attraction in this place except for the church of Paulist order built in the beginning of the 15th century. The church, dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Marry, is protected cultural herirage of national importance. The entire church is preserved in the Gothic style while the subsequent reconstructions belong to early and late Baroque. The church is famous for its 18th century frescoes painted by John the Baptist Ranger.
From 1503 until 1537 the first Croatian public secondary school started working in the monastery.
