If you are looking for something romantic to do around Broome, this is it: go Camel riding on the Beach at Sunset.

You get picked up at the bus station, then driven close to the beach. There you are introduced to "your" camel. 2 Persons per Camel, one in front of the hump, the other one behind.
Through the dunes you ride slowly to the beach, where you arrive just in time for a wonderful sunset.
Back through the night to the Camel-Station.

All in all a wonderful - romantic evening - ride.

And: did you know that Australian Camels are exported to Egypt and other African countries?
First they imported them to Australia, because they thought they would be helpful in this dry surroundings ... and they were! But some escaped or were sent away, because they were not needed anymore. They did well in the Australian deserts, becoming wild again. Then they were rediscovered. And it was found that they were of better quality than the ones in Africa (less inbred most probably) - and today ... well.

Address: Cable Beach, Broome
Directions: Can be booked in the Information Centre in town.
