This picture shows the wonderful view from The Mound - looking at the National Gallery with the Scott Monument clearly showing in all its sooty glory.

Among the finest small galleries in the world, it contains an outstanding collection of paintings, drawings and prints by the greatest artists, from the Renaissance to Post-Impressionism, including Velazquez, Rembrandt, Turner & Monet. Shown alongside the national collection of Scottish art.

Opening Days/Times: Jan - Dec.
Open daily 10am to 5pm.
Thursday late night until 7pm
Extended opening during the Festival.

Toilets and Shop, but no parking - no way!
Right beside Princes Street, and the nicest way to reach the higher ground of the Castle & Royal Mile (via The Mound).
