Siegessaeule - Victory Column, Berlin: 69 reviews and 109 photos

Victory Column (called Goldene Elsa by my Berlin friends) is almost 60 meters high and crowned by a gilded figure represnting Victoria. It was built to commemorate the various wars fought by Prussia the resulted in the unification of Germany. If you are extremly fit you can climb the approx 280 steps that lead up through the inside of the column to a viewing platform with spectacular views over the nearby Tiergarden.
