"Dont even think of going to lands end" Cornwall Tourist Trap Tip by DOUGALSMUM

Cornwall Tourist Traps: 9 reviews and 11 photos

  cornish coastline in january

What used to be a beautiful peace of land is now the stereotypical tourist trap, yes it is tempting to go- just so that you can say that you have been to lands -end, but once you have fought your way through the huge car park and past the incrediblt tawdry gift shops you will be beginning to wish that you hadnt bothered. This is a classic case of commercialism ruining what used to be a beautiful natural area. My advice is dont bother going.

Unique Suggestions: If you must go, do it in January. There are no crowds, most of the shops are shut- its freezing cold but you have the beautiful view from the clifftop all to yourself instead of fighting your way through the crowds and queing to have your photo taken at the "Lands END" SIGN.- JUST REMEMBER TO WRAP UP WARM.

Fun Alternatives: You would be much better going a little further down the coast to the beautifull little village of st Ives, which is a very pretty little seaside town that has somehow managed to avoid the onslaught of "kiss me quick" hats and the like.
