When to Travel, Florence: 3 reviews and 7 photos
Favorite thing: First, I am a cold weather person by nature, meaning I would much rather freeze than sweat. That is why I loved Florence so much. I got to tour the city twice, once in October and again in February. I cannot even imagine being in line for the Uffizi in August, with the multiple hour wait, heat and general icky feeling. October was really manageable lines and cool weather, but my favorite was February, when there were zero lines, cold, crisp weather and a general lack of tourists in my way.
I know most people's vacation dates are set to be in the summer, but if you prefer colder weather, less waiting, and "truer" Florence life, come in the winter time.
High season: May - September
Shoulder season: October-November & March- May
Low Season: December-February
