These two enormous statues is all what remains of what once was the funerary temple of Amenhotep III. Originally they stood at the entrance of the temple and were 21 m tall but their crowns have been stolen. Now they measure still 16 m and stand between the Nile and the necropolis high up in the mountains behind the statues.

Directions: West bank of the river Nile - Luxor
