  Temple of Queen Hatshepsut

Hatshepsut was a female pharaoh who ruled over Egypt for more than 22 years without making war. During winter of 1997 a bloody assassination took place on foreign tourists by Muslim fundamentalists. From high up in the mountains behind the temple they fired and killed more than 68 innocent people. It was a great disaster for Egyptian tourism and economy.

Directions: Valley of the Kings ? West bank of the river Nile - Luxor
