"Wat Phra Kaew (Temple of the Emerald Buddha)" Temple of the Emerald Buddha - Wat Phra Kaew Tip by Jmill42

  Emerald Buddha from a distance
by Jmill42

Just inside the Royal Palace walls lies the Wat Phra Kaew. It is home to the most revered Buddha image in Thailand, the Emerald Buddha. The Buddha image gets its name in that it is carved from a single piece of green jasper. This temple is thought of as the personal temple of the king and royal family.

Pictures are not allowed of the Buddha image from inside, though they did not seem to mind everyone snapping shots from right outside the door. So, I did just that.
