"Visit Caerphilly Castle." Caerphilly Castle - Daytrip Tip by jtb2inky

Caerphilly Castle - Daytrip, Cardiff: 4 reviews and 12 photos

This is the 3rd largest castle in all of Britain, right after Windsor and Dover castles. You definitely get the storybook castle feeling when visiting here. It has a moat and bridge (no longer a drawbridge). Overall the castle is very intact. It is a castle explorer's haven. There a many little passages and nooks to discover. There are also two small museums on the site featuring different exhibits on Welsh history and castles. You will get some great pictures to be taken here, so bring your camera! The town of Caerphilly itself is very cute, and is worth exploring on its' own right.

Address: A few miles north of Cardiff.
