After their victory at the Battle of the White Mountain, this church was given over to the Carmelites by the Catholic authority in Prague. Originally it was the first Baroque structure in Prague and was built for German Lutherans by Giovanni Filippi in 1613. After their victory, the Carmelites renamed the church and rebuilt it. Inisde the church is the effigy of the infant of Prague which has an interesting history and following in the Catholic faith.
