Rococo facade of the Archbishop's Palace
by bpwillet

The large white building that is just outside the front gates of the castle is where the first Catholic Archibishop resided since the Hussite Wars. It was bought by Ferdinand I in 1562 and has remained a palace for the archbishop ever since. The present day facade was completed by Johann Wirch in the late 1700's for the Archbishop Antonin Prichovsky.
There is a giftshop in the lower level where you can purchase religious icons or theological works. As well as photography books on Prague and stamps. Both international and regional.
