"Mamore Gap" Buncrana Off The Beaten Path Tip by gilescorey

Mamore Gap is a beautiful mountain pass that opens to magnificent ocean vistas. I think we saw only one other car during this entire trip. The road is narrow, winding, and difficult to find. When heading out of Buncrana Centre on the Mountain Road(Carn Road), make a hard left at the Cockhill bridge(by the church). This route will lead you to The Gap. May also be reached from the Stragill area via foothill roads. I travelled through much of Ireland, and Mamore was possibly the most beautiful area I visited. This would be an ideal route to Malin Head from Buncrana. Watch out for suicidal sheep!
