  virgin's tower
by Sioma

The Old town can be subdivided in upper town and lower town.
The upper town is the most ancient one, and it's situated on the little hill of Toompea.
The castle was built in XIII century by Danish; on the hill you'll find also the Dome Chirch (the oldest estonian church, built in 1223),the most recent Aleksander Nevskij orthodox church, and the building of estonian parliament.
The tower in the pic is called "Neitsitorn" (virgin's tower) , because during Mid Ages it was a prison for prostitutes (...maybe estonian prostitutes were virgins...mah....)
