Scotland is regularly plagued with great swarms of 'Midges' during the summer.

The are especially prevalent in the west of Scotland and resemble a scaled down version of a locust storm.

They can leave an irritating little rash - and worse still they seem to target certain individuals based on the chemical make up of your sweat.

Nothing seems to stop them.
