"This One's a Must!" Point Reyes Seashore Lodge Tip by jswiens
Point Reyes Seashore Lodge, Olema: 200 reviews and 0 photos
My husband and I recently stayed at the Point Reyes Seashore Lodge for our 11th wedding anniversary and found it a little slice of heaven on earth. Although we are Bay Area natives, it was our first time to the Point Reyes area. The Lodge is in Olema, which is a little 6 or so building town about 10-15 minutes from the ocean (note: not sure where "seashore" came from as you are not on the ocean nor can you sea the ocean). We explored everything in the area on up to Bodega Bay, and the Lodge was by far the nicest place we saw. The lobby is warm and inviting, as is the staff. There is a comfy lounge area with information on the local restaurants and activities. Downstairs is a fireside/breakfast room and a game room with a pool table and the only TV in the place. No TVs combined with rather high prices creates a heavenly quiet atmosphere. We stayed in the Garcia suite - queen feather bed in loft, two person bathtub with window that looks out through the room and out the balcony, fireplace, yummy continental breakfast and newspaper delivered to your room every morning. The back of the Lodge looks out over Olema Creek and the meadows and hills beyond. Open your balcony doors and you can hear the trickling of the creek or the frogs in the evening - just lovely. Next door is a decent restaurant - The Olema Farm House. For fancier fare, across the street is the Olema Inn (we met a couple who complained their room was freezing over there). If you are looking for tranquility in a beautiful setting, with very friendly service, the Point Reyes Seashore Lodge is the place. We will be back again and again.
