"LE PALAIS DE CHAILLOT" Palais de Chaillot Tip by eden_teuling

Here you see LA SEINE and the bridge called BIR-HAKEIM.

On your left hand side you see le PALAIS DE CHAILLOT.

This quite modern building is located opposite the TOUR EIFFEL and the CHAMPS-DE-MARS.

It was built in 1937 (World Exhibition in Paris) in the same place where in 1878 (also for the WORLD EXHIBITION) the fake-morish TROCADERO palace had been built.

This Palais the Chaillot consists of 2 symmetrically bend wings; in between the wings is a wonderful terrace.

Underneath is the THéâTRE DE CHAILLOT.

On the terrace are dozens of statues and from this place you have a splendid view over RIVER SEINE and the RIVE GAUCHE (left bank) with the EIFFELTOWER and the CHAMPS-DE-MARS.

Again I have to state that nothing is more rewarding, surprising and at the same time tiring, than WALK WALK WALK.........whether you visit Paris, Amsterdam. New York or Istanbul!

I left many a footprint in these (and many more!!) cities and my feet are willing to walk more and more.......I really am an insatiable traveller.......
