  King's College Chapel
by Bwana_Brown

After passing through the doors of King's College, you will emerge onto a huge open square covered with lush green grass! What a pleasant sight to see in February! Along one side of this square rises King's College Chapel, built between 1446-1515 to serve the college. It is built in the English Gothic style of cut stone masonry and, when you get up close, it is amazing to see the delicate filigree of its stonework! Huge stained glass windows (installed between 1517-47) comprise about 2/3 of the area of each of the four walls of this very simply designed but elegant building.

Directions: On the grounds of King's College, downtown beside the River Cam.
