"Transiberian railway (5)" Russia Things to Do Tip by Sioma

Russia Things to Do: 285 reviews and 525 photos

the train stops are usually shorter than 20 mins. (often the train stops only for few mins.) ...at the stations, a lot of babushke will come around the train, trying to sell different ptoducts (usually ice creams, fishes, meat, bread, bear or vodka, toys, fruit, etc...)
If you're hungry, my tip is to buy only confectionated things....on the train there's also a restaurant vagon, but the prices will make to pass your desire to eat. It's better you take with you something to eat bought before your leaving.
On the table of your compartment you can find some kind of snack, bisquits, etc...it's not a present: you'll pay whatever you'll eat...
On the vagon, there's a boiler, from where you can take the water for the tea; if you haven't the glass you can ask it to the Lady...if you haven't the tea or the coffee, she'll give you for few roubles...
At the end of your trip she will wont the glass back. (once i tried to stole it,as a souvenir, but she discovered me...a bad experience :-)
