Most roads over the South Downs follow natural or artificial valleys but this one goes straight over the top and winds along the spine of the hills before dropping into Steyning village.

The best place for dog walking and wandering about because you can see right up and down the hills and along the coast from the top. Also a favoured dumping ground for stolen cars due to it's remote nature
