"Cotswolds" United Kingdom Things to Do Tip by Sjalen

It has to be said that this is an almost "theme park" style destination. The reason is that so many tourists flood here and you would be best off travelling when they don't. I came in late September which was perfect. The other reason for this is that so many rich people have gathered here, in scenic surroundings with honey coloured houses and with commuting distance to swinging London. This makes it a bit unreal as you look at property prices in the real estate windows or see the size of some peoples so called "cottages". But the village scenery is magic wherever you go - even if you feel like you are in a Jilly Cooper novel most of the time :-) Try somewhere like Upper Slaughter, Bourton-on-the-Water or Broadway...

Directions: See VT pages on Bourton-on-the-Water, Broadway, Upper Slaughter, Gloucester or Cheltenham for ideas.
