  Western Baray
by muddybok

Western Baray built in the early 11th century & is the largest water reservoir measured 8km x 2.2km build by Angkorian Kings. There is an island temple (Western Mebon) in very poor condition sits on a central artificial island of Western Baray. A short boat ride is necessary to visit the ruins.

Western Baray is also the only public swimming pool at Siem Reap area. Of course most high end hotels will have they very own swimming pools.

Swim wears (those colorful pieces) & inflated tire rubber tube can be rented with a fee. It's especially convenient for those who didn't bring their swim wears & rubber tubes are good for non-Olympic swimmers. ;-)
