We Chose Island Sightseeing & Stingray City.
Duration: 3 hours
Cost: $55.00
We boarded a small boat to take us from our ship to the Morgan's Harbor. Then a van took us to the other side of the island. Then a small craft took us to Stingray City where we boarded an observation boat. It was a great excursion. National Geographic said" it's one of the most rewarding experiences in the undersea world." The stingrays are magnificent and oh, so gentle. This sandbar is inhabited by these graceful creatures. We had a tour of the gorgeous homes built around the island, many belong to celebrities. Next, we went to HELL. (Read more about it in the HELL entry) Next, we went to the Cayman Turtle Farm, the only commercial sea turtle nursery in the world, which was quite interesting. It's a great place that is breeding turtles that are almost extinct.
Finally, we went to the Rum Cake factory where we took a small tour and had delicious samples. The van then took us to the pier where another boat took us to the Horizon Ship. It was a full day of activity.
Directions: It's located just off Grand Cayman's north shore. Stingray City is a sandbar inhabited by Stingrays.
