The City Palac and Rao Madho Singh Museum is the one sight in Kota that is basically a must see. However few foriegn tourist come here. In fact I was the only one there. The museum, located within the palace has a very good display of weaponry and gives a good history of the region that I had found lacking in other museums in India. The murals are the best that I saw in all of India and I would have to say the prime reason you should come here. The collection of stuffed animals, hunting trophies, in the basement of the palace is downright sad.
The museum is closed on Friday(!) and is open from 11am to 5pm.
