It's an orange world on this day in Suzdal

Just seeing the devastating effects of the aftermath of the soviet imposed communist system makes for a surreal experience. Communism states that the goods of a country will be owned and shared among all of its citizens and for all of their advantage. We know now that the high Soviet officials usurped the same kind of money and power as any other regime in the developing world. The communist ideal of shared wealth only applied to the masses. Since there was no incentive to outperform each other, the Russian society grew into a stale, low-middle class, unwilling to work hard and unwilling to be flexible. It's almost as if they underwent a massive 70+ year brainwashing program. Sometimes though, I wonder if it's rooted even deeper then that, perhaps as deep as the previous system, the feudal Tsarist regimes. Regardless of what started it all, the dreams of making it big - gaining wealth and power- have been replaced by a high intake of alcohol and tobacco. Continuing with the rigid Soviet System, one in which you had no other direction to take other then the one steered by the communist party, present day Russia is populated by an inflexible society that is unwilling to adapt into the capitalist country some of its leaders envision. Poverty is rampart at almost all corners. Instead of doing something productive such as washing cars, Russians are content with begging or just drinking. This problem will continue for several generations as the young pick up the bad habits of their parents. Perhaps a massive re-education overhaul can instill some of the inherent capitalistic drives present in the rest of the world. After all, this drive is what impulse our ancestors to walk erectly, to leave Africa, etc. This attitude is imbedded on every human and to a certain degree I feel confident it still lies deep in the Russian people as well. Someone needs to pull that out from deep within their brainwash psychic. Until then they will continue to be content with the present and will always expect things to get worse.
