We passed bicycle rentals numerous times during our trip. . .but being in absolute terror of the traffic kept us away from what was an otherwise tempting idea. ;-)

When we reached Mandu, we finally felt we had found a place calm and quiet enough to bike. The experience was a sheer joy. . .the rental bikes aren't in great condition, and you shouldn't expect to find helmets, but it's a fantastic way to cover some serious ground, relying only on yourself.

If you have the chance, or are brave enough to dare in Udaipur or Khajuraho, it's a blast.
