The Parthenon is the world's only full-size replica of the original building in Athens. Inside, the 42-foot (13-meter) statue Athena is the tallest indoor sculpture in the Western Hemisphere. The Parthenon also boasts the largest bronze doors in the world, weighing seven and a half tons (6,804 kilograms) each.

Originally built for Tennessee's 1897 Centennial Exposition, the Parthenon now houses the City of Nashville's permanent art collection. Sixty-three paintings by nineteenth- and twentieth-century American artists, which were donated to the city by James M. Cowan, are on permanent display. Additional space is used for a variety of temporary shows and exhibits.

Directions: The Parthenon is located at 2600 West End Avenue, in Centennial Park west of downtown Nashville.
