Yogyakarta Off The Beaten Path: 29 reviews and 42 photos
I can't imagen that you don't visit the Borobudur
while you are in Jogya.
It is the largest buddhist temple in the world.
It is a large flat pyramid with 9 floors....
How we get there?
We made reservations in the hotel to have a tour
operator pick us up.
That will cost you about 3 euro.
We decided to go very early in the morning.
The best time to visit since Borobudur attracts
in high season every day between 20 000
and 40 000 visitors.
They picked us up at 5 in the morning , it opens
at 6. Together we rented a guide. There are no guides allowed then the official ones.
They charge you 40 000 Ir. (thats okay ,
you'll need a little guidance I think)
Why are the prices between different tour operators
in Jogya so different. Simple
, entrance fee is sometimes
not included.
Entrance fee is much higher for foreign visitors.
85 OOOir (or 10 dollar)
