"Buying train tickets" Budapest Warnings Or Dangers Tip by biggeorge

Budapest Warnings and Dangers: 202 reviews and 106 photos

Buying train tickets is very difficult at the main stations because Hungarians like to buy tickets at the last minute and have arguments with the cashiers.
Therefore forward planning would logically mean a trip to the MAV ticket office.
You take a ticket and wait for an hour before getting the information about your train ,and take another ticket.
You then wait another hour before booking your train and paying.

Or you do what the locals do and ignore the information part and go straight for the booking tickets.
