"What a change in scenery from central London!" Greenwich District Tip by joelnale

Greenwich District, London: 10 reviews and 20 photos

This is definitely a sea-faring community. Probably 25-30 train ride from central London, but well worth the visit.

Be sure to visit the Old Royal Observatory. For a physics buff like me this is equivalent to 'gold'! 0' Longitude starts here! Lots of neat astronomical history here too.

The Cutty Sark is here as well. Unfortunately I don't know much about this ship, but it is permanently stored here.

What I also liked about this area was the open markets. There were many vendors selling used goods as very cheap prices. Food was also there as well.

You must visit Greenwich if you go to London. Spend half a day and bring some food for a picnic, there is a large park near the observatory where many people just sit and relax.

Address: Greenwich, SE10
