This is a great museum and a good place to take kids. You will learn almost everything there is to know about New Zealand, its history, and culture, from the very beginning to the present.

You will see an exhibit about New Zealand's natural forces, including earthquakes, volcanoes, and plants and animals. Bush City is an outdoor exhibit that recreates New Zealand's natural habitats.

A great exhibit is dedicated to the Maori culture, and other exhibits include the history of immigration to New Zealand, the significance of sheep to the country, and an art gallery.

There is also a space for temporary exhibits that change frequently. When I was there, it was an exhibit about fashion dedicated to Gianni Versace. Some of these exhibits may charge for admission.

In addition to the museum, there is a gift shop and some restaurants.

Te Papa is open every day from 10 AM to 6 PM and on Thursays until 9 PM. Admission is FREE, so don't pass this up.
