Litchfield National Park is a smaller compact park that offers refreshing swims in pools that are significant to the aboriginal culture. Our first stop was at the Wangi Waterfalls, which were traditionally reserve as a place for women to meet and commingle. After swimming in them for a while, we took of towards Tjaynera (Sandy Creek) Falls via a gravel/4wd road. We hiked for over an hour to reach this falls. It was a tedious walk as we had to walk on 40'Celcius weather, which was to be the common temperature on our trip. The walk ended up by the plunge pool where we were rewarded by a nice lunch followed by a pleasant swim. I even snorkeled here in the water that was deeper then 10 meters.

Oh, but the day wasn't over. We continued driving to Florence Falls, were we got a much shorter walk to the falls. From atop, we stopped to appreciate the beautiful view from lookout before walking down a set of stairs to the set of twin falls below. We had another pleasant swim here and as the other waterhole I explored this one with a snorkel mask. I must have explored the entire rocky bottom :). Our last stop of the day was at the Buley Rock hole, where we got to swim in smaller waterholes for a few minutes.
