Especially in the neighboorhood of the Fatahillah square you will find some Bajajs .
These are little motorised 'cars' with three weels that smell immense.

Suitable for short distances , negotiate about the price and make a deal before you get in. (quit cheap)

Less pleasant is that you will get gassed for sure...but if you walk you will get gassed too.
This way is safer in some neighbourhoods.
