Major Hurricanes generally miss Bermuda because of its size but every so often a very serious one hits. You really don't want to be on the island and especially not in a beachfront hotel when one does hit.
Hurricane Fabian hit this September and was a disaster for the island. Only 4 people were killed but tons of damage was done to many businesses, homes, trees and roads.
My advice would be to pay attention to the weather, not just the daily forecasts but the long-term reports to avoid being stuck on the island during a Hurricane.
