El Rincon De Rafas: "Tasty tapas!" El Rincon De Rafas Tip by jayhawk2000

El Rincon De Rafas, Manchester: 5 reviews and 6 photos

  A backstreet hideaway
by jayhawk2000

A former professional Spanish football player now runs Manchester's finest tapas place.

In the basement down a quiet side street, Rafas is one of those back alley discoveries we all dream of discovering. You'll get a warm welcome, cold Spanish lager and a hearty helping of tapas from the large menu.

During the afternoon it's full of light and families, come night there is often live music and a party atmosphere as the Spanish expats arrive.

Favorite Dish: Try to have a nibble of everything...some sweet peppers, a handful of plump olives, a slurp of soup, a pile of ham, some bread dipped in oil....mmmmm....

Address: Longworth Street off St John's Street
Price Comparison: about average
Directions: Head down Deansgate until you're across from the Great Northern complex. Turn down St John's Street, a row of Georgian townhouses. Your first right turn is Longworth Street. Head down this quiet alley and look for the Spanish tiles!
