Yes, why not watch one Serie A (pronounced as "See-ree Ah" please) Football Match?
On Saturday + Sunday afternoons and nights, you will be able to see the best teams in the Italian Serie A battling it out on the soccer fields all across the Italian peninsula whilst their loyal tifosi will congregate either at the stadiums or local cafes to cheer their team on. Most Italians would proudly proclaim that the soccer genes is part of their DNA. ;-)
Needless to add, soccer players are treated like demi-gods here in Italy. So, if you hear names like Maldini, Totti, Nesta, Shevchenko, Vieri, Inzhagi being talked and discussed openly in cafes and restaurants, no... they aren't the latest politicians running for presidency.
Likewise, if you hear names like - Inter, Milan, Roma, Juventus, Lazio etc being either cheered at or boo-ed openly...yes, they are not the latest names of Italian fashion designers. These are Italy's top football clubs!
The best cities to catch a Serie A match is in: ROMA (home of AS Roma and SS Lazio), MILANO (home to AC Milan & Inter-Milan) and TORINO (home to the most-hated football club in all-Italy - Juventus) etc. These teams mentioned are currently amongst the best teams in the world.
Photo: AC Milan's new wonderkid from Brazil - Ricardo 'Kaka' - who has set Serie A alight with his silky skills as an attacking midfielder cum playmaker. Thanks to him also - my dream team is currently doing very well in the Italian Serie A and Champion's League (for the season 2003/4). Forza Milan!
Bag the trophies for your loyal tifosi, Milan!! ;-)
