This Jesuit church stands right next to La Cathedral almost as if it were in competition with it. The original building was destroyed in the earthquake of 1650 and the new church was completed soon after. It was built on the spot where the famous palace of the inca emperor, Huyana Capac, once stood.

Go inside the church to enjoy some great works of art. The one that was most interesting to me was a painting of Manco Inca's granddaugher marrying the very man that helped the spaniards capture Manco Inca - the symbol of mestizo beginnings in Cusco.
