"Howl with the wolves" Battle Ground Things to Do Tip by Dabs

Battle Ground Things to Do: 1 reviews and 0 photos

If you find yourself near Lafayette Indiana (home to Purdue University), stop by Wolf Park, a non profit education and research center established in 1972.

The Center is open 1-5 pm Tuesday through Sunday from May to November. In addition there are howl nights where you can channel your inner wolf and join in the howling at 7:30 pm on Fridays during the season and Saturdays year round.

At the park you can see several packs of grey wolves, bison, foxes and a coyote. There are docents that lead guided tours of the park. On Sundays during the open season (May-November) you can see Wolf-Bison demonstrations.

If you are coming from Chicago or from Northwest Indiana, remember that there is a time difference of an hour from the last Sunday in October- the first Sunday in April when Indiana is on two different time zones.

Directions: Near Lafayette Indiana, 130 miles from Chicago. From Highway 65, take highway 43 (exit 178) north 1 mile to Highway 225. Turn right and go to the center of Battle Ground and follow the signs to Wolf Park.
