In the southern Lakes lies the small village of Cartmel. This is one of the most picturesque villages in the lakes and lies on relatively flat ground near to the costal towns of Grange over Sands and Ulveston. You can stop here for lunch, wander round the many shops or visit the 12th century priory.

We took the oportunity to have a sandwich and feed the ducks again. They are everywhere in the Lakes
