"In the Christ Church Cathedral Neighborhood" Dublin Favorite Tip by Kentbein

Favorite thing: While we're here in the nighborhood, there are a few things worth noting and exploring before continuing on the journey. South of the Cathedral of course, is St. Patrick's, another of Dublin's old gems begun only a few years after Christ Church. It is about three blocks south and a down hill walk from Christ Church.
Even though it's easier walking downhill from Christ Church to St Pat's, we're not going there yet. I have a few other places to visit first, so if you're coming with me, put St. Pat's on ice for a little while. We'll see it on the return trip.
For now, let's see what other things are around Christ Church and then we'll head further west towards the Guinness Brewery.
Fondest memory: Look down again at the sidewalks and notice some of the intersting details to be found. Sidewalks are always a good indication of the community's level of design awareness. Dubliin has lost some of its great walkway gems, but fortunately for us, they have some people who haven't forgotten.
Look around thorughout the city and see how many original walkways you can find, or as shown on this photograph, how they have been treated in more recent rennovations. I'm not sure of the date this inlay was placed, but it's a nice detail and shouldn't be overlooked.
