Every Sunday morning a changing of the guard ceremony is held in front of the Parliament building. It is very popular with locals and tourists alike who are all trying to get the best vantage point.

When Mari and I were there we met an elderly Athenian man who was an English teacher. Most of his family have since moved to Melbourne, Australia (the second largest "Greek" populated city in the world after Athens). He told us where to stand to get the best photo shots and we have a lot to thank him for. If you see him (and he WILL be there) he doesn't mind a chat so don't be shy.
