"The Pier" Lincolnshire Nightlife Tip by ChrisAlexander

You know, in this country there is a society for the appreciation and preservation of our island?s piers. They even produce a magazine and organise trips around the country to visit various seaside resorts. Marvellous. Anyway, here is our pier. It used to be much longer, but during the Second War, it was made shorter to prevent the German Luftewaffe from thinking it was an airstrip or something. Or perhaps to prevent them for using it to land their own planes. I imagine Hitler was very frustrated. A very large saw was apparently needed to do this amputation. It?s now used as a nightclub. (The pier, of course, rather than the saw.)
