"The LDS (Mormon) church is the..." Utah Local Custom Tip by Mikelut

The LDS (Mormon) church is the dominant cultural force in Utah. This makes things like getting a mixed drink a little more tricky than it could be. There are those of us living in Utah who are not LDS too, so don't assume that you are talking to a Mormon just because you are in Utah. I get that a lot, and I am not Mormon. Also, don't assume we are all polygamists either. There are a few polygamists around, but they mostly keep to themselves and the majority of the population does not suscribe to polygamy. Utahns are a friendly lot. Trail etitquitte here suggests a greeting or a smile to others with whom you are sharing the trail.
